Owned by a young Italian-Irish guy, the hostel is housed in a large villa near the popular party resort Golden Sands. And the parties are extreme.

This place is so crazy, it has a cult following. According to its owner, at last count 108 people have tattooed an “X” somewhere on their bodies.
Its sister hostel in Bucharest is threatening to take over the “wildest” title with a larger pub, sauna and Jacuzzi.

The name says it all. Set in the coastal town of Lagos, The Rising Cock is wild and naughty, steadily racking up praise on the European party hostel since opening in 2004.
Owned by two Portuguese-American brothers, it started out in a three-bedroom apartment, where up to 30 people would sleep “on the floor, on the couch, in hammocks or even on a freezer.”
These days, however, the digs are significantly more spacious.
Guests can choose between five facilities located within a short walk of the beach, including a girls-only hostel for female guests who can’t handle “the craziness of the Cock.”
Booze cruises (US$6), “all-you-can drink” sessions and beach parties are also on the agenda.

Milhouse’s reputation for fun and debauchery got so out of hand a few years back, rumor has it the owners were forced to try and bring things down a notch. If that’s the case, it didn’t work.
This hostel remains firmly established as Buenos Aires’ premier party hostel, just blocks from Plaza de Mayo and the bohemian barrio of San Telmo.
It’s housed in an impressive five-story 19th-century building, with the first-floor lounge usually packed with guests partying at the bar before heading out to the discotecas -- and again after their return.
It’s so popular that owners recently opened a second hostel around the corner on the Avenida de Mayo.
Just be forewarned: this popular hostel does get booked up so be sure to make reservations at least 48 hours in advance.
